Grave of Meinhardt Raabe, Jefferson County, Wisconsin

Meinhardt Raabe (pronounced Robby) was born in 1915 in Watertown, Wisconsin. At age 23, he appeared as the Munchkin coronor in the 1939 movie "The Wizard of Oz," pronouncing the Wicked Witch of the East to be "most sincerely dead." Raabe served as an aviator in the Civil Air Patrol in World War II. After the war, he earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Wisconsin and, years later, a master's degree in business administration from Drexel University. He also spent nearly 30 years as Oscar Mayer's "Little Oscar, World's Smallest Chef" traveling the country in the first Wienermobile, produced in 1936. Raabe died in 2010 at the age of 94. He is buried in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Farmington, Wisconsin.
